So I decided to write a different blog post on some of the technology I have observed or used in the course. I used Kahoot for the majority of my assessments in our Henry Hudson unit plan. Plickers was used by some of my colleagues. I created a Glogster for my economics project. And added to Dr. Smirnova's voice thread of many courses. Our instructional videos were uploaded and made accessible on YouTube. And LAST and MOST BENEFICIAL GOOGLE. I have written my lessons, assessments and unit plan all on Google Docs. These materials can be accessed by ANYONE with the click of the share button. And all of our presentations were created on Google Slides. These are tools for EVERYONE, but most of all these are tools for students. Teachers, please take the time out to explore these tools.

  1. When using technology such as Kahoots to engage our students and exposing them to interactive tools that can allow them to activate multiple levels of learning I find it to be rewarding for all that are involved in the classroom. As teachers we need to allow the students an opportunity to take the pencil out of their hands and engage with technology that they will use on a daily basis in their lives. Incorporating the technology was a wonderful way to connect to your students and allow them to find value in the lesson in a fun way.

  2. I really enjoyed this blog post Carielle. I feel this really helped put into perspective the amount of technology we were exposed to during the semester. I really enjoyed that we had the opportunity to use many of these forms of technology in our fieldwork. We will now be prepared to incorporate this into our future lessons in order to help our students to engage in meaningful learning.

  4. What a great post summarizing all the websites we used this semester. I agree with making technology its on post. Technology is as amazing and terrifying thing at the same time. I mentioned in my blog, google could be the death of us educators because now a days students don't have to read a book they just need to google questions and spark notes. KAHOOT is by far one of my favorite websites and methods of assessment. I am confident we will use numerous websites in our future classrooms!
